이름에 대하여
Journeyal은 journey(여정)와 journal(기록)을 합친 이름입니다. 두 단어는 모두 프랑스어 jour, '하루'에서 나왔습니다. 하루를 적으면 journal이 되고, 하루하루 걸어가면 journey가 됩니다.
저에게 교육은 하루하루 나아가는 일입니다. 아이들과 보낸 하루, 그 하루에 품었던 생각, 아이 한 명 한 명을 바라보는 저만의 시선이 쌓여 길이 됩니다.
그 하루를 잊지 않으려고 기록합니다. 기록은 지나간 날을 붙잡아 두는 일이 아니라, 내가 어떤 생각으로 여기까지 왔는지 스스로 확인하는 일이기 때문입니다. 아이들에게 매일 기록하라고 권하듯, 저도 그렇게 걸어가려 합니다.
이곳은 김지연의 색깔과 생각, 그리고 교육자로서 걸어온 하루하루의 기록입니다.
About the name
Journeyal joins two words: journey and journal. Both come from the French jour, meaning "day." Write down a day, and it becomes a journal; walk day after day, and it becomes a journey.
To me, education is a matter of moving forward one day at a time. The days spent with children, the thoughts each day brings, and the way I see every child as an individual add up, over time, to a path.
I write so that I do not forget those days. Recording is not about holding on to the past; it is how I see for myself what I was thinking along the way. Just as I ask my students to keep a daily record, I try to walk the same way.
This is a record of my colors, my thoughts, and the days I have walked as an educator.
